Tommy Moves On....

Tommy Smith today followed Matt Connolly and Heidar Helguson over the Welsh border, to join Cardiff City or dare we say, QPR reserves. Smith has signed a 2 year deal with the Bluebirds for an undisclosed fee.

Tommy joined from Portsmouth in August 2010 and made 33 appearances during our promotion season, scoring 6 goals along the way. He made 20 appearances in all competitions last season and scored 2 Premier League goals, the first cliching our first win of the season away at Everton and the second, a 20 yard screamer versus Wigan at home.

Personally I feel, along with injuries etc, that R's fans never really got to see Tommy Smith's full potential at QPR and all of us here at Lofty Heights would like to wish Tommy all the very best of luck in his future career!

What a great player he was for us, even though limited by injuries etc. He should have got more gametime last year when others were not really performing. Quality in the second half of the Championship winning season.
