Madness...

What do you do if your team has overall, been struggling for goals all season? Answer: loan out your top scorer to Nottingham Forest for the rest of the season...

Nottingham Forest have completed the loan signing of Queens Park Rangers striker Dexter Blackstock until the end of the season and I am struggling to think just why QPR have done this? Well, it has been widely reported that Flavio Briatore is not a fan of the R's top scorer, so I guess that is that then...

Good Luck Dexter, hope you do well for Forest and more importantly, I hope you come back!!!

I agree. A ridiculous decision which makes no sense at all. Vine may be on the way back but his fitness is still not proved.

We seem to be on a mission to sign midfielders - we have enough to sink a battle ship!

We can't score at the moment and no doubt Paladini will come up with the answer ... "I know .... let's sign another midfielder"!!

Cant get my head round the club allowing Dex to go out on loan.Hes our best prospect of getting a goal in any game.Whats been brought in just isnt cutting the mustard.Helgeson,Di Carmine miss more than they score.Vine is a massive boost to us but we are expectin a mircle for him to hit the groud running an start bangin in goals.Balanta an Rose are young an need to be handled carfully. For once we have good wingers to supply balls an what do we do,get rid of the best forward we have.I've backed Briotore an Co an especially Sousa an put my faith in them so far but I really hope they know something I dont in his reason for letting Dex go.Best of luck Dex an I hope they see sence an get you back ASAP.

Yep its a strange one, and i do think there is something in the rumour regarding the contract and pasta belly. I didnt think Dexter was the greatest but he was the best QPR had and was the leading scorer too add to that he was still only 22. oh well still got pieguson (who apparently is out for the season)

Shocking, 4-1-4-1 it is then! Sousa this is the Championship not Serie A!

It's absurd to let Blackstock go. Especially so given that Helgusson is increasingly looking like one of our worst signings ever. And as for Di Carmine, though he tries and works very hard, he is just not up to it. Utterly ridiculous. Haven't heard any rumours about Dexter making passes at Briatore's bird so one can only but assume he's being got rid of because either his contract talks have been unsuccessful or there are serious doubts about his ability. But as I say the other permanent strikers we have are not fit to lace his boots imo.

The only way that I can read this is that the top brass at LR have decided that the Rs season is essentially over. They are sending a proven goal scorer to a team in the relegation zone because that is the best deal that they can get for him. With Vine getting fit the management is already thinking about the next striker they hope to land in the offseason.

Best of luck to Dex, a great young player that is only going to get better.

At last,a manager who like me thinks Dex isnt up to it in the championship.I for one hope we make the move permanent.I am fed up watching him running around falling over and looking completely gormless.Lets be honest he is better suited to the lower divisions.

I agree with all of you.

    MAD-NESS.

Cant wait to see next weeks formation!!

complete madness to be honest loaning dex to forest it really isnt the way forward . last season i admit dex was utter crap but this season he has been a real dangerman ... also just like to add we have to 1st class wingers with hogan and the morrocan lad backing them up and we play one up front you really only have to look at man utd playing a 442 to prove its the best formation if we played this more often im sure we wouldnt of suffered nine 0-0 draws come sort this out

My guess is that they got an offer they couldn't refuse...if the talk was of a 2 million pound transfer in the Summer, then I'd imagine Forest probably insisted on a loan for the rest of the season as part of the deal.

Personally, much as I like Dex, I'm not sure whether he'll mature into the striker we want him to be. He gets into good positions and is good in the air, but at the same time is often invisible for numerous games on the trot.

I reckon 2 million is probably too good to turn down - and let's be honest, we don't have a hope in hell of making the playoffs this season anyway.

In summary, I can see why this would upset some people, but I think it's actually a good bit of business by the board

This is not "MADNESS" this is negligent incompetence,it further demonstrates Briatore and Co.'s lack of knowledge of the english game in general and the "Championship in particular

I think it's good he is going! He only scored a handfull each season he has been here and besides that 2million is well above what we paid for him so it is good business on the other hand we cannot rely on helgusson nor di carmine because they are really poor at this level we need a proper striker like ebankes blake if we are to get out of this divison and stick to a flat 4-4-2 not all this foreign formation stuff it simply doesn't work for us.... Shame the new manager hasn't realised this already the way to score is to have height and pace upfront which we don't have.

you say dex cant keep his feet ? well he keeps em a damn site better than di carmine does when i watched him at both derby and forest 9 times out of 10 he was on the floor

I think this is a great move for dexter and the club, Dexter hasnt been getting into the team for a while now and clearly is not in sousa plans, dex unfortunalty hasnt been playing well enough to make to first team mainly because he get knocked off the ball far to easily. good luck to dexter im sure this move will be made perm at the end of the season.

whether you think it is right or wrong for Dex to be leaving, its crazy that its happening now! He is our top scorer, in double figures and when on form, very good in this division. He is just back to fitness and i thought he was starting to look interested again. Whether we believe it or not, Sousa still seems to think we are in the play off running, so why lose your top scorer and NOT REPLACE HIM?? He is not the best striker in the world, but he is the best striker at QPR

Speechless! Agree with all other comments. I have no confidence in any of the current first team strikers' ability to score sufficient goals in a season to get us to the top, but why release the best striker? Those in power must show us they can now bring in two very competent strikers who have a good goals per game ratio, and if they wish release some of the other strikers who have not shown any ability to cut the mustard for us, i.e. Helguson, di Carmine, Agyemang.

have heard from a friend of mine who manages the ladies team that briatore still has a big say in picking the team and doesnt like dexters attitude and has di carmine on big money so feels he has to play him
