QPR in Cup Run Shock...

QPR 4-0 Carlisle

Goals from Damion Stewart and a stunning hat-trick from Emmanuel Ledesma, saw Rangers storm into Round 3 of the Carling Cup and I think, that this now definately, can be considered as a Cup Run...

With Corp still on his sick bed (get well soon mate) and PK deciding against rushing around after a hard day's graft, it was just myself, California Hoop and Mrs California Hoop in attendance tonight and boy, I bet PK had wished he had made the extra effort now!!

Rangers played some good stuff and created many chances against their high flying opponents in the first half, but both teams went in level at the break. Onto the second half and cue Emmanuel Ledesma...

The Argentinian midfielders corner was headed home by Damion Stewart on 48 minutes to give the R's a deserved lead. Ledesma doubled the lead on 56 minutes after turning his marker before firing a left-foot rocket into the corner.

From there on, it was the Emmanuel Ledesma show and on 63 minutes, Parejo's lay off found the hitman in space and he lashed it past despairing keeper Williams to make it 3-0. Ledesma completed the rout on 85 minutes after he cleverly chipped Williams following great work from Balanta, to complete a superb hat-trick.

QPR: Cerny, Delaney (Gorkss 67), Stewart, Mahon (Bolder 67), Parejo, Rowlands, Ramage, Connolly, Cook Ledesma, Di Carmine (Balanta 67). Subs: Camp, Alberti, Ephraim, Ainsworth.

Lofty's Man of the Match - Emmanuel Ledesma, if you hadn't guessed already ;o)

There is not a lot more I can add this evening after witnessing a great second half's worth of football and one of the best hat-tricks I have seen at Loftus Road. It's four wins out of five for Iain Dowie and QPR now and a place in the 3rd Round of the Carling Cup - Happy Days!!!

excuse me? Leave your name next time you leave such crap comments like that please. When did I say, we were great?? Did you read the Sheff U report??
We won tonight and played well, so why can't I be happy about it??

At the end of the day, if someone had said we would have won 4 out of our first 5 games, I certainly would have taken that! So why all the doom and gloom? Let's not forget the amount of times we HAVEN'T beaten the teams we should beat as you say? I could start with a list but would be here all night...

I politely suggest you go and crawl back under your anonymous tag and go be a miserable sod elsewhere...

I just have to laugh when I see comments like the one "anonymous" left, "We beat a team that we should beat..." What? After years of scraping for any point to keep us above relegation and keeping a close watch on the goal differential, are there really Rs fans that are jaded about winning against any team?

When you see a breakout performance by a player like Ledesma and see the team working hard and getting results then I don't know what more you could ask for. The team had one bad outing against the Blades, it happens, move on.

I'm a little surprised that Camp did not start this one... but great to see another clean sheet.

it doesnt matter who u beat the thing is the team gets confidence from winning and like u say they shouldhave beat them stand back and look at the football being played and remember the times when we couldnt beat an egg

I am still miffed by the first comment left? We have played 5 games and won 4 of them - when did this last happen? This time last year, we were yet to see a win and had been dumped out of the cup by Leyton Orient. In fact, it wasn't until October that the R's recorded their first win of the season???

As for Camp (Bobo), I certainly wasn't surprised to see Cerny in goal last night after the 'rumour' I heard Saturday that it is unlikely he will play for QPR again? As I said, it could well just be a rumour but California Hoop reminded me last night that Derby couldn't wait to get rid of him and also, Norwich wanted nothing more to do with him after his loan spell there? Made me think...

A real shame if true however...

4 wins out of 5, 2 clean sheets in a row, potential stars in Parejo, Balanta and Ledesma, 6 goals in the last 2 games and yet some people are still not happy.

Carlisle looked a good team until the first goal went in and the confidence flowed through the Rangers team. They were close to getting promoted last year so this was not going to be an easy game.

I like the look of the new formation and it allowes us to play a team with 3 attack minded players in Parejo, Cook and Ledesma while still able to look relativly solid at the back. The team are slowly starting to Gel and if current form continues we could be in for a good season.

Bristol City will be a big test on Saturday but it looks like Dowie learned his lesson from the Sheffield United game and i think we will be able to get at least a point there.

The futures bright, the futures Rangers

Well done to the lads - just a quick comment in response to the brave anonymous person - we SHOULD have beaten Orient, Northampton, Swansea (I could go on) and we sure as hell SHOULD have beaten Vauxhall Motors - TWICE! So anon, you are an idiot - my only concern is how much Ledesma looks like Chris Coleman - what a handicap!

    Great Report Lofty

I am getting better all the time and hope to make the next home game all be it in neck brace? Lol cant wait for the entire Mickey taking I will get but if Rangers play as well as last night,
Don’t forget they can only play who’s in front of them as rangers fans we all know that this bubble could burst on Saturday but don’t be upset by what one person who no doubt is on the message board trying to sack Dowie.
Rangers has it fair set of sheep just like all the other clubs,
So lets say that last night was a great game to watch (nice to hear) and yea lets stand up and make some noise? (It has been a long time coming).

R.T.I.D. Corp (Which I thought was the other day)lol

Oh anonymous, you are the type of fan I sooooooo hate.
The type of person who was calling on Les Ferdinand to "eff off back to Turkey" when he first got in the side.

Yes, we have won nothing yes (except 100% of home games this season), but for the love of god we have something to believe in for the first time in so many years.

Why don't you go and watch Chelsea, you'd be pretty sure of a trophy then? Me, I'd prefer the unpredictavility and oft dash dreams of being a true and proper fan!

Well, just as a feel like giving all this up again, yeah I know, sorry - all these comments arrive, thanks guys.

Glad your feeling better Corp!! I wont take the mick out of you.... that much ;o) Seriously, the support you gave me with my injured foot was invaluable, I don't forget that!!

DJ - good to see you back mister!!

It's just a shame we all had to respond to the first comment by Mr T.Wat, but it seems many of us have our feet on the ground and are enjoying the ride!! I guess he/she is just one of our 'new' supporters who again, will be calling for Dowie's head if we are beaten at Bristol. Do you actually attend any games either??
