Nothing To Report - part 2...

Yes, you guessed it, those lovely people at the FA would rather send fans travelling around the country midweek, rather than arrange a fixture for a blank Saturday. The QPR players are currently training in Portugal and we have another, FA Cup Day off...

See you all soon :o)

Speaking of fans traveling around Lofty (since we do have a few days off for non-QPR chat), what is your take on the whole games overseas issue for the Premiership?

I think it is a great idea and can't understand the why so many people are getting upset. The Premiership attracts fans from all around the globe and I cannot see the downside of getting more fans to follow English football.

Ah, interesting point bobo and I for one am dead against it!

what you say is correct, that 'The Premiership attracts fans from all around the globe and I cannot see the downside of getting more fans to follow English football.'

BUT, I am speaking as a fan who is fortunate enough to be able to travel to watch my team - week in and week out. Now, there are fans out there that do not miss a single game and as well as everything else, are now being asked to spend hundreds and hundreds off pounds to travel to god knows where. Okay, so the exercise is to take the football to the other countries, and the FA would not want our supporters neccasarily travelling over, but this is our country. These games are said to be competative, NOT friendlies, genuine fans will want to see the games and are being cheated out of doing so. Basically, those in charge do not care about this in the slightest!!

We have seen, certainly in the Championship this year, the complete non regard for supporters whilst compiling the fixture lists - I am talking about the MANY midweek trips for Rangers fans and indeed, any others.

I could waffle on for ages about this, but my point basically, is that football is becoming more and more controlled by money and is being taken away from the people that make the game what it is, the supporters.

Thank goodness someone has seen sense now - sense and the FA hardly go hand in hand do they?

Frankly - I think the idea of playing games from the ENGLISH premier league abroad is nonsense. We have Champions league, Euro, world and lord knows how many other competitions that would let the rest of Europe seee our wonderful premiership teams up close - do we really need another? Imagine some poor sod from Portsmouth, who's never missed a game having to find a grand or so to go watch portmouth v fulham somewhere insane like Budapest? Nonsense!
